2 Apps To Improve Productivity in Your Home Based Business
What’s up my friends? I’d like to introduce you to 2 apps that can totally help make your life a little bit easier on a day to day basis.

1. XOBNI
If you’ve got a ton of contacts and email a lot, Xobni is an awesome program which integrates with Microsoft Outlook. Now what I recommend is actually integrating your Internet based email such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc. with Microsoft Outlook on your desktop. This is a great way of getting multiple accounts together in one place.
Now what Xobni does is it indexes your emails and organizes them by sender. The search function in Xobni is UBER powerful and you’ll be able to find just about any email from any contact that you need. . (FYI…Xobni runs on Outlook 2003, 2007 and the just released 2010).
Probably the coolest feature in Xobni for those of us in the Internet/Social Marketing realm is the social integration of your contact list. When you find an email that you’ve searched for you’ll actually have the ability to see a bio on the sender, their picture and other info that is pulled from Social Networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
At the end of the day if you use Microsoft Outlook you’ll definitely benefit from using Xobni just through the search tool which will allow you to find attachments, contacts, and content 10 x faster than you could using the search tool in Outlook. Couple that with the cool Email Analytics where you can tell who you email the most and even the time of day you’ll get some fun statistics together.
P.S. If you don’t use Outlook check out this plugin for Fire Fox/Chrome called Rapportive which works with your Gmail account. You’ll get similar functionality with your contacts as in Xobni where you’ll have access to their Social Media information right from inside of your Gmail account.

2. Drop Box
The second tool that will certainly make life a little easier for you is Drop Box. Now if you’re anything like me you may work on more than one computer, and probably switching back and forth between a desktop and a laptop as you go about your daily grind.
What Drop Box does is allow you to sync files in ONE place and have direct access to those files on multiple computers. You’ll also have access to those files via the Internet where you can log in from a browser and open or download your files if the need arises.
Some more cool features include:
- You start out with 2 GB of space.
- As you invite more people you’ll get additional space (up to 8 GB of space total)
- The ability to share files or folders with others.
- Compatible with Mac, PC and Linux. There are also Mobile apps for your iPhone, iPad or Android based phones. (Blackberry app reportedly coming soon…)
Check out this quick video below previewing the two apps.
