How To Become a Millionaire: The 3 Essential Steps

So I was on an awesome conference call the other night with the magical Jerry (DRhino) Clark. Let me tell you prior to the call I was certainly unlucky enough to have never heard of Jerry before. By the end of the call I felt as if I was the luckiest man in the world.

Hi story was inspiring and influential and I wish that you could have been there with me to take it all in. It is one of those stories that makes you know that you can change your life no matter what.

Anyway lets get down to the real truths and the nitty gritty. Jerry was sure to share with us what he called the 3 Essential Prongs to becoming a millionaire.


  1. 1. Technical Know How
    (The How To’s): This is the first and probably the most dominant prong. This is the thing that most people will get stuck on in their business. People decide that all they need to do is learn everything they need to know and that alone will bring success. Show me how to build a capture page, show me how to do PPC, show me this , show me that…all of this is great in a logical world where everything falls into place.  As it turns out though human beings are emotional creatures and we’re not able to properly implement this technical knowledge without appealing to not only our own emotions but the emotions of others.  This is where the other 2 prongs come into play…
  2. Internal Communication: This is where we find our visions and internally we find the clarity on the goals that we seek to accomplish. This is where you actually learn how to actually “make” yourself do the “How To’s” in #1. Another words, this is your soul searching and where you find the inner strength to be successful. In order to be successful it will take Time, Energy, Frustration and Change. Time in that “Rome was not built in a day”, be patient and you will find what you seek.
    Energy
    , in that you will work harder than you ever have before.
    Frustration
    in the failures and rejection that you will have and that you will use to power you forward.
    Change is what will occur after you put the first three into play and you will change as a person and as a business person.
  3. External Communication: After you have found the peace and skill within yourself the final prong or piece of the puzzle is to communicate with other people.  In order to be successful in your business you HAVE to understand your target market and audience. We should all know relationships are the most important things in business and life and we have to understand that we need to connect with others and find out what their joys, pains, frustrations, fears, aspirations etc are. When you do this you’ll figure out how to connect with people and be more influential, be more persuasive because you have that connection to who they are and they will connect with you as well.

It is essential that we practice all 3 of these prongs in order to truly find our path to success. You can see how each one is connected to the other and how the final aspect is just true human connection and the building of relationships. If you want to be a millionaire you’re not going to sell and buy your own product so you need people.  You have to have a yearning desire to figure out what they want and what moves them.

    I always love reading your posts and this one hit home! Those 3 points are essential. I especially liked the one about technical know how. As Cedrick Harris put it, “your product is people.” So if you don’t know how to communicate with people, you’ll never have success.

  2. Hey Brian,

    this post is hitting the nail on the head, if you know what I mean. I read in a book by Zig Zigler that you can become rich by meeting the needs of others and helping them achieve their goal(s) in the process. So, this post really re-enforced this great principle for me.

  4. Hey Brian, I always love reading your posts. You connect so well, it’s great. Thanks for the info, I like the way you have presented it in “easy to think about and picture yourself doing it” language!

    It is so true, if you don’t know who you are as a person deep down you have no hope in connecting genuinely with others. I still believe people think that just because they are on the internet that it doesn’t matter what they say and do to people because they can’t be held accountable. I think that is sooo old school of people to think like that today!
