Personal Development: The Cross Roads of Success
So my mom sent me a great “Daily Motivator” recently which got me thinking. Here is how it started out:
“The same skills you use to create limiting beliefs can be used to create empowering beliefs.
All you need is a meaningful enough reason.”
Powerful statement isn’t it?
Let me tell you, so often we sit down and start thinking, I can’t do this and I can’t do that. What if we took that energy and simply said “Yes I CAN”. Many times in Business/Network Marketing/Internet Marketing we are tested by the sheer magnitude of information and opportunities that arise on a day to day basis. Just to get started there is so much to learn. So many different topics, so many different ways to build your business and it does become a challenge to focus on just one method of building your business and you end up feeling the pressure of finding success immediately since you’ve put hundreds or thousands of dollars down and maybe you’re not making a dime as of yet.
The most important thing to fall back on at that point though is your “WHY”. Why are you doing this? What is it that is driving you forward? Why are you working 8.5 or 9 hrs at your job and then another 8 or 9 when you get home? Above all else, you must have a “WHY”. We all have different reasons why we sacrifice in search of a better tomorrow. Maybe you’re just tired of the corporate rat race, maybe you need extra money for the bills, maybe your boss is an @$$hole and above all else you want nothing more than to take in your letter of resignation on your way to the airport for a 3 week vacation paid for by your hard work and long hours at night. Maybe you just want to go out and buy a Mercedes, or an Aston Martin or what hell lets go out on a limb and say you want a new SMART car.
As you can see there are endless possibilities and reasons for you to create your empowering beliefs. The key is though that YOU are the only person who knows what is important to you. For me, sure I want to be financially free and have time for myself and my family, but for me, with that financial freedom comes the ability to help others who are less fortunate and to inspire others to reach the same heights that I have attained. For me that in itself is priceless.
Remember that you have a CHOICE to make. You have a choice between writing that blog post today or watching Oprah (sorry Ms. O), you have a choice between learning that new PPC technique and implementing it or growing that new corn field in Farmville. You have a CHOICE whether to fight forward or to quit.
I’m not saying to not have any down time, but make that choice to better your life.
If you’re reading this, you are more fortunate and have more opportunity open to you than 99% of the population and again you have a CHOICE on whether to take the path to greatness and success or to just be another average Joe on the Internet. Choose wisely…
P.S. I highly suggest you get up off of your @$$ and choose option #1. Find your passion, Find your WHY and Find your Greatness.
P.P.S. If you don’t know where Greatness is you can find it here.
Here’s the full excerpt for your reading pleasure:
Choices In Every Moment
The same skills you use to create limiting beliefs can be used to create empowering beliefs.
All you need is a meaningful enough reason.
The same energy you use to make excuses can instead be used to take action.
You simply have to want it enough. You are a full time, highly effective achievement machine.
What you choose to achieve is completely up to you.
You have what it takes to live your dreams and you have what it takes to ignore those dreams.
You get to decide which it will be.
Your choices are made in every moment, in every word, in every thought, and in every action.
Those choices are driven by what you focus upon.
The life you live is the life you choose to most vividly and consistently imagine.
Imagine the best, without ceasing, and that’s exactly what you’ll have.
– Ralph Marston

Brian, this is a very motivating post. This seems to be the point most people miss — success is indeed a choice. Most people waste too much time being envious of those that have success and make excuses as to why they themselves do not have success. Productive use of their time would better spent identifying their goals and plotting a course to reach them.

Deborah, that is correct. Plot your course and go for your goals as if there is nothing in your path to stop you.

Brian,
Great thought provoking post concerning flipping your mindset from the negative to the positive. Not having to create a new tool, it’s all there. All you need to do is change your thought process and move towards creating unlimited beliefs.
Love your perspective on life,

Brian,
This is so true. We all can make choices.
There are so many that don’t realize that and end up playing the blame game. They too could have made other choices.
Thanks for sharing such a g great post.

Hey Brian,
You are so right. We are all making choices that shape our future and I’m sure Ms. O would agree with you (although she’d likely recommend you record her show and watch it later). She got to where she is the same way, by staying focused and making the right choices. Thanks for the inspiration. ~ Linnea
